Guatemala Hope (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy. We collect only the limited information needed to serve you and operate our mission, and we never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to give us:
- Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
- Newsletter / prayer list: your email address and optional first name. We send a confirmation email before adding you to the list; unconfirmed requests expire after one hour.
- Donations: your gift is processed by Stripe. Payment card details are entered on Stripe’s secure systems — we never see or store your full card number.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- respond to your messages and requests;
- send updates and prayer newsletters you signed up for;
- process donations and send receipts;
- keep records required for our nonprofit operations.
Service providers
We share information only with the providers that make our work possible, and only as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing (see Stripe’s privacy policy).
- Email delivery — a third-party email service used to send newsletters and receipts.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — spam protection on our forms, if enabled.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses minimal cookies and does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. A necessary, one-day cookie connects your donation confirmation to the browser that started checkout. We also temporarily use a hashed network address to limit abusive requests.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand page visits and donation steps, including checkout starts, errors, and verified confirmations. Events contain language, entry point, giving frequency, and an approximate amount range; we do not send donor names, email addresses, payment identifiers, or confirmation tokens. Query strings and URL fragments are removed. A temporary browser-session marker prevents repeated confirmation events when you refresh.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message, and you may ask us to access or delete the information you shared by contacting us.
Children’s privacy
Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
